About the author – Terry Webb

When Terry Webb first visited the original lighthouse museum in Rockland and met Ken Black, he encouraged her to write a book about lighthouse keeping for middle grade readers. “We need books for that age group,” he said.

Having spent many summers listening to fog horns and learning to sail in a Friendship Sloop, she wrote Manning the Light, capturing her own adventures as a youth but also the many inventions during that period of American history. Her first book led to what turned out to be a series of 4 books about lighthouse tending – each written with the same characters with their adventures dealing with weather and lighthouse keeping during different seasons of the years

Weathering the Storms, Mystery and Mishap and Leaving the Lighthouse“ Much of my research can be attributed to the research already done by Ken Black,” she says.
