Medomak Valley to destroy academic records from 2006 to 2008

Waldoboro — Medomak Valley High School has announced the cumulative academic records for the classes of 2006, 2007 and 2008 will be destroyed beginning Sept. 4.

Federal regulation – under the Family Educational Privacy Act -- stipulate rights to these records transfer to students upon their turning 18. As such, records will only be released to students with appropriate identification (license, passport, etc.) or to parents of students who present both signed permission from their student and appropriate identification.

Students who graduated in 2006, 2007 and 2008 who would like to have possession of their cumulative record should call the registrar at 832-5389, ext 112, or email at Margaret_Hunt@msad40.org to make arrangements to pick up the record or ask questions.

Students should note the permanent high school transcript will be maintained in perpetuity.
