Waldoboro — Start the music.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 21, the historically-talented and championship-driven Medomak Valley High School cheering squad, under the guidance of veteran coach Rachel Coor, will be shouting, jumping, tumbling and tossing itself into the competition season.

The Panthers are expected to be among the favorites to capture Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B and Western Class B championships in the coming weeks, and be a solid contender for the state Class B title.

The KVACs will be Monday, Jan. 21 at the Augusta Civic Center and the Western Class B competition on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the same venue. The state competition will be Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Bangor Auditorium.

The Panthers will compete at 11:06 a.m. on Monday at the KVACs.
