Medomak Valley, Oceanside runners get start on new season

Campaign starts with small races hosted by Panthers

Waldoboro — The high school cross-country season began for Oceanside and host Medomak Valley on Friday, Sept. 1.

The boys team scores were: Boothbay Region 17, Oceanside 36 and Medomak Valley and Richmond no score.

The girls team scores were: Medomak Valley, Boothbay Region, Oceanside and Richmond no score.

The first individual finishers were Boothbay Region's Blake Erthard in 18:03 for the boys and teammate Faith Blethen in 21:50 for the girls.

The course records by Waterville's Nicholas Dall in 16:39.82 on Sept. 16, 2016 and Cony's Anne Guadalupi in 19:34.20 on Sept. 18, 2015 were not challenged.

In Friday's races, there were 25 boys and nine girls finishers.

The individual boys results for Medomak Valley and Oceanside were: 4, Isaiah Potter, Med, 20:03; 6, Tyler Bowman, Med, 20:31; 7, Jimmy Weinand, Ocean, 20:48; 14, Patrick Corcoran, Ocean, 22:04; 15, Cyrus Alley, Ocean, 22:05; 20, Matthew Young, Ocean, 25:50; 21, Alex Mahar, Ocean, 26:15; 22, Jonah Carlson, Ocean, 26:47; 23, Kyle Arey, Ocean, 27:21; 24, Edwin Stone, Med, 29:10; and 25, Max Osborne, Med, 29:12.

The individual girls results for Medomak Valley and Oceanside were: 3, Serena Blasius, Med, 22:51; 6, Mackenzie Emerson, Med, 25:59; and 8, Jayla Robinson, Med, 27:59.
