Waldoboro — The Medomak Valley High School Athletic Department, in conjunction with the Medomak Valley All Sports Boosters, announces the inaugural “Paws for the Cause” basketball game to benefit the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition. The event will be held Jan. 2 at Medomak Valley High School, when the Medomak Valley Panthers play host to the Lincoln Academy Eagles.

Back-to-back games featuring the varsity boys at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity girls at 7 p.m., attempt to “Pink Out” the Medomak Valley High School gymnasium.

For these special games, both Medomak Valley teams will be wearing unique pink uniforms. In addition, commemorative T-shirts will be available for students and fans of both schools to purchase leading up to the game, and on the evening of the games as well.

In addition to T-shirt sales, other fundraising will be taking place prior to and during the game, as well as an opportunity for spectators to add a Personalized Pink Paw to the wall for a $1 donation. The evening’s 50/50 drawing and all other proceeds will go to the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, a volunteer-based nonprofit organization, dedicated to making a difference through advocacy, education, and financial support.
