Medomak Valley grabs preseason mat success

Panthers compete in Dexter Duals in preparation for regular season

Dexter — In a preseason high school wrestling meet to the north, which featured two Midcoast squads, Medomak Valley participated in the Dexter Duals on Saturday, Nov. 25 along with Camden Hills of Rockport, Nokomis of Newport and the host Tigers.

The Panthers finished 1-2 on the day as they bested the Tigers 35-24, lost to the Windjammers 36-18 and Warriors 35-24.

The individual Medomak Valley results were:

132 pounds — Emily Harris was pinned by Dawson Allen, CH, at 1:04; was pinned by John Brown, Nok, at 0:22; and was pinned by Isaac Webber, Dex, at 0:28.

160 pounds — Dylan O’Reilly was pinned by Noah Lang, CH, at 1:41; and won by forfeit over Nokomis and Dexter.

170 pounds — Eli Miller pinned Caleb Hendrick, CH, at 0:55; lost to Quinton Richards, Nok, 8-2; and pinned Autumn Irwin, Dex, at 0:23.

182 pounds — Jakob Gess was pinned by Alex Vokey, CH, at 0:34; and won by forfeit over Nokomis and Dexter.

195 pounds — Amos Hinkley pinned Kenneth Dare, CH, at 0:29; won by forfeit over Nokomis; and pinned Kim Don Joon, Dex, at 1:47.

220 pounds — Eric Benner won by forfeit over Nokomis and beat Eric Bennett, Dex, 21-6.

285 pounds — Eric Benner pinned Ben MacWilliams, CH, at 1:12. Jake White pinned Nick Lincoln, Nok, at 3:54; and pinned an independent at 0:48.
