Medomak Middle School, youth wrestling on horizon

Waldoboro — Medomak Middle school wrestling will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

First week practices are Tuesday, Jan. 22, and Thursday, Jan. 24. All practices will be 6 to 8 p.m. at MMS.

MMS wrestling is open to boys and girls in grades 5-8 from Regional School Unit 40 schools.

After week one, practices will be Monday through Friday. Meets are Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning on Feb. 23, and end with the Pine Tree Wrestling League championship on March 23.

Prior to the first practice on Jan. 22, each athlete must submit sports participation and concussion forms, along with a current sports physical exams. Both forms can be found in the MMS main office, or on the district website: msad40.org. Click on "athletics," then "forms."

Medomak Youth Wrestling also will begin on Thursday, Jan. 24. Practices will be on Mondays and Thursdays 5 to 6 p.m. at MMS, and is open to boys and girls pre-kindergarten through fourth grades in RSU 40 schools.

There is no fee to participate and athletes must bring shorts and t-shirt to each practice.
