Waldoboro — It is construction season in the Midcoast, as witnessed by all the orange signs and cones in place along Route 1 in Warren and Waldoboro.

The Maine Department of Transportation project site indicates highway preservation paving will be done on Route 1 from Route 32 to Manktown Road in Waldoboro by Pike Industries Inc. between May 29 and Aug. 6. Work will be done at night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Bridge construction on Winslows Mills bridge is also expected to begin the end of July and finish in December by Wyman & Simpson, Inc.

In Warren, Pike will also be doing night work for highway preservation paving and highway safety and spot improvements on Route 90, and overlay and shoulder widening on Route 1.
