Rockland — The Masons of Aurora Lodge No. 50 have again sponsored a Bikes for Books program in local elementary schools. Last year, they donated 24 bicycles, helmets and T-shirts to students in grades kindergarten through five at Owls Head Central and Gilford Butler schools. This year, they repeated that donation, and also gave 24 bicycles to students at Cushing Community School. The program rewards students for reading.

The funds for the program came from a Masonic golf tournament held at the Rockland Golf Club. This year's tournament will be held July 28 at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $80, and preregistration is required. For more information about the tournament, call Jeffrey Curtis at 594-0942.

In addition to the Bikes for Books program, the money raised will support Oceanside's Project Graduation. Businesses may also sponsor a hole duirng the tournament. For business sponsorships, call Floyd Montgomer at 596-6200.
