Kittery — Mary L. Davis, 97, formerly of Tenants Harbor, passed away June 2, 2018, at Durgin Pines Assisted Living Home. She was born April 13, 1921, to John and Anna Lambe, in Queens, N.Y.

She graduated from Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing in 1944, and worked as a registered nurse at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York until 1946, when she married Sydney Davis of Port Clyde. They lived in Port Clyde, after which they moved to Tenants Harbor. Mary nursed at the Knox Hospital in Rockland, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, and did private-duty nursing, until she retired in 1986.

She enjoyed her family and her pets, and was a voracious reader. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice Lambe, Julia Vilece, Florence Lambe and Jeanette Lambe, her brother, Jerry Lambe, and her husband, Syd.

She is survived by her son, Scott Davis, and his wife, Sally, of West Bath; her daughter, Sally Cocco, and her husband, Mike, of Kittery Point; her grandchildren Erica and Kelly Davis and Michael Cocco and his wife, Rebekah; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, with a reception in the church fellowship hall thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841.
