Mars Hall invites you to take a tour down the peninsula

SAINT GEORGE — Mars Hall Gallery will participate in the St. George Business Alliance event, "Touring Peninsula Art," on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shows currently on exhibit are "Out & About" and "Sublett ~ 100 Years," and feature an eclectic mix of paintings by watercolorists Leo Brooks, Linda Funk, Nat Lewis, Greg Mort, Cam Noel, Elaine Reed, Carl Sublett and Eleanor Zuccola; acrylic and oil paintings by Nancy Baker, Jeannette Steele Esposito, Kris Johnson, Stephen Jonassen, Sharon Larkin, Maurice Michel Lode, Elaine Niemi, Jimmy Reed, Manuel Rincon, Russell Smith and Ron Weaver; and black and white pinhole photography by Antonia Small.

Also on display is a large selection of 3-D Art by Ian Baird, Bill Cook, Jay Hoagland, Bill Nichols, Elaine Niemi and the late Rudy Rotter; a variety of quality crafts including decoupage by Davene Fahy, handmade collage cards by Eleanor Zuccola and stained glass, pottery and mosaics by Dona Bergen. The gardens are alive with metal sculpture by Jay Hoagland and Brian Read. A unique collection of antiques, handmade and vintage jewelry, and vintage 1960s rock posters are also available.

On Sunday, Sept. 15, artist Nancy Baker will demonstrate plein air painting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. Baker, known for her landscape and still life paintings, has been working on illustrating a children's book to be released next year.
