Rockland — It was a fun, productive and vastly successful first step for the Oceanside girls basketball team and first-year coach Matt Breen on Friday night, Dec. 6 against Maranacook of Readfield.

The relatively young Mariners played consistently well throughout the contest and took control against the Black Bears en route to a 50-30 season-opening home high school court win.
