Mariners get to work on mat in preseason meet

South Paris — The mats bustled with activity as the Oceanside Mariner wrestling team tangled in an nine-team preseason meet at the Viking Duals on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Oxford Hills.
Oceanside did not pin down a victory in the high school meet as the Mariners fell to Mountain Valley of Rumford 54-30, Massabesic of Waterboro 51-24, Sanford 42-36 and Erskine Academy of South China 60-34, but did gain valuable experience against foes from larger schools the Mariners do not normally face.
