It was a tough season for middle school athletes due to persistent, consistent rain, schedule changes and tough field conditions. However, the Mariners and Riverhawks persevered to battle for the title on Saturday.

Kurr worked the circle for the Riverhawks, as she finished with six strikeouts.

Both teams had a bundle of players with hits and there were plenty of base runners.

Oceanside scored nine runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in the fourth, one in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Medomak plated three in the first, one in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth.
