Rockland — Catinka Knoth will lead an art workshop series for adults focusing on March motifs. Classes will meet Mondays at 11 a.m. in the Friends Community Room of the library, 80 Union St.

Each week will be a different subject: March 4, the Iditerod sled dog races and husky dogs; March 11, St. Patrick’s Day and Celtic designs; March 18, circus figures; and March 25, Easter designs and cards. Participants will work with pencil, colored pencil, crayon and papercut, with a focus on drawing in color.

Knoth provides these classes free of charge, with materials supplied. Friends of Rockland Library hosts the workshops, which are open to the public. For more information, call Knoth at 596-0069 or the library at 594-0310.

Knoth also teaches a free weekly children's drawing class at Rockland Public Library, sponsored by Wendy and Keith Wellin; and she paints watercolors of Maine and whimsical animal scenes, which she offers as cards and prints. For more information about her work, visit
