Camden — A motorcyclist died early Monday morning in a crash in Camden.

The motorcyclist Jarrod Criscoe, 34, of Camden was identified by Camden Police Oct. 2.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Oct. 2 at the intersection of Park Street and Harrison Avenue.

Camden/Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne said a resident in the area reported hearing acceleration and a banging noise at approximately 1:10 a.m. The resident looked outside and did not see anything to cause concern.

At approximately 5:20 a.m., a person out walking found a deceased man and motorcycle on a lawn at the intersection of Park and Harrison. Police arrived and said the man appeared to have died from severe trauma caused by the impact of the crash.

Initial investigation revealed the operator was not wearing a helmet, and speed may have been a contributing factor. According to the police report, while Criscoe was traveling west on Park Street, he lost control of the motorcycle, and he and the motorcycle slid into a curb.

The accident remains under investigation by Camden Officer Chris Hansen and Rockport Sgt. James Moore.
