The Mallett Brothers Band

Lincolnville — Maine’s act-country/rock favorites the Mallett Brothers Band will perform Friday evening, Oct. 27, beginning around 6 p.m. on the porch of the Lincolnville Center General Store, 269 Main St./routes 52/173.

The music caps the long-awaited grand re-opening celebration that begins 3:30 p.m. at the in-village store. The portion of Main Street in front of the store will be closed to traffic from that time to about 8:30 p.m.; there will be a detour in place.

The store has been closed for a number of years. In 2011, it was purchased by Briar and Jon Fishman, the latter known worldwide as co-founder of the jam band Phish; and locally as Selectman. The Fishmans began a major renovation of the 19th-century building last year.

The grand re-opening celebration will include pizzas from the store’s oven; and burgers and dogs by Rollie's Bar and Grill. In addition to MBB, live music will be provided beginning 4 p.m. by the Route 17 Ramblers, whose musicians include past Lincolnville Selectman Rosey Gerry; Jon Fishman will sit in on drums.

For more information on the festivities, visit the store’s Facebook page.
