At its September board meeting, the Maine Lobster Festival Board of Directors donated a total of $3,200 to three recipients.

LEO Only received $1,500. LEO Only is a volunteer-run charitable organization that offers financial and emotional assistance to Law Enforcement Officers and their families. It provides Christmas presents to over 360 children, offers a scholarship program to the children of fallen officers, pays for funerals of fallen officers, and much more.

Meals on Wheels received $1,500. Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious, made-from-scratch meals to home-bound seniors and disabled individuals in Knox County. Last year the organization delivered over 30,000 meals to local residents.

Thomaston Grammar School’s Supply Closet received $200. The supply closet gathers school supplies like glue sticks, pencils, and crayons, as well as basic necessities such as tissues and hand sanitizer. In the past, the teachers and staff at Thomaston Grammar School paid for these types of supplies for the students who could not afford them.
