Local nonprofits receive grants

Local Midcoast nonprofits are receiving grants from the Damariscotta Bank and Trust Foundation Special Project Fund. The grant awards are part of the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation. According to the announcement, the awards support health and wellness, providing for such basic needs as food and heat, and administering mental health.

Local grant recipients are:

$10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine, which is based in Camden and serves children in seven counties, including Knox and Waldo. These funds will help launch a new virtual platform, MentorNet, where mentors and children can connect virtually.

$7,500 to Coastal Mountains Lands Trust, which owns and maintains trails in Knox and Waldo counties.

$5,000 to PAWS Animal Adoption Center, Rockport, which serves Knox and Waldo counties.

$10,000 to Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition, Camden.

$7,000 to Wayfinder Schools, Camden.

$15,000 to Rockport Library Foundation, Rockport.

$7,500 to Area Interfaith Outreach, Rockland.

$5,000 to MCH Inc., Rockland.
