Local nonprofits offer internships to Worthington Scholars

Mar 12, 2018

Rockland — The Worthington Scholarship Foundation will partner with the Penobscot Bay YMCA and Owls Head Transportation Museum to offer internship opportunities for current Worthington Scholars.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum will offer three opportunities for current Scholars, including a marketing and communications position, a New England Auto Auction position and also a ground vehicle position. The Penobscot Bay YMCA will provide a childcare and camp internship that will give students an opportunity to work directly with youth, develop curriculum and learn how to manage these programs. All internships will be paid positions and will vary in hours depending on the employer’s needs.

The Worthington Scholarship Foundation currently has more than 100 Worthington Scholars attending college throughout the state of Maine. Its purpose in offering these internships to local youth is to both assist current Scholars in their effort to develop career readiness skills and also to enhance networking between local businesses and current college students from the Midcoast.

Current Worthington Scholars who are interested in applying for these internship positions should contact the foundation at 596-5800 or email Caitlin Clark at Caitlin@worthingtonscholars.org.
