Rockland — Rock City Café, 316 Main St., welcomes back two favorite Midcoast ensembles Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, from 7 to 9 p.m.

On Friday, it’s The Pinwheel Brothers. The Waldo County trio features Ben Hatfield (guitar), Phil Mancini (mandolin, banjo, guitar) and Vic Tredwell (bass). All the members sing, except Tredwell; Pinwheel Brothers is descended from Hatfield and Mancini’s duo Dandelion Wine.

The Rusty Hinges will fill the stage Saturday, led by Nancy Jones on guitar and pennywhistle. Her compatriots are Brian Dunn, mandolin and banjo player, vocalist and chantey man; John Couch on guitar, vocals and harmonica; Charles Chiarchiaro on resophonic and lap steel guitar and vocals; singer/songwriter John Monterisi on guitar; and Chuck McGregor on stand-up bass. The Rusty Hinges have a good time playing all kinds of folk music, from sea chanteys to fiddle tunes, oldies to bluegrass and more.

Food is available until closing. For more information on these and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
