Rockport — Dr. James P. Buckley received the N.E.T. (Neuro Emotional Technique) "Doctor of the Year" award in May during an event in Philadelphia.

Buckley was selected from a pool of 8,000 practitioners, in 30 countries, who have been taught this specific technique.

“I feel so humbled to receive this award,” he said.

Buckley received his bachelor's degree from Empire State College in New York, and received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from New York Chiropractic College. He has been living and practicing in Rockport for the past 20 years at Champion Total Health, and practices chiropractics as well as nutritional medicine, acupuncture and mind-body medicine.

N.E.T was developed by Scott and Deb Walker and stands for Neuro Emotional Technique. Buckley explained that N.E.T is a way of clearing stresses and negative emotions in the body. He believes these stresses and negative emotions can cause energy blockage, which can lead to many maladies. Buckley’s goal is to treat patients before the stress has done its damage.

He believes everyone can benefit from this specific practice, because, “We all deal with stress in some way, from infancy through adulthood. It’s all too often when I see patients who have been through traumatic events from 10 to 70 years ago who have held onto that stress all those years, affecting their lives in a hurtful way.”

N.E.T utilizes manual muscle testing and acupuncture to determine structural, nutritional, toxic and emotional stressors within the body, that can cause ill health.

Buckley is featured in a film called "Stressed," which illustrates the results of N.E.T. and the effectiveness of it. The film will be available for distribution and have multiple showings around the Midcoast, with locations to be announced. Anyone seeking more information can visit onefoundation.org.
