LOBSTER FESTIVAL DISPLAY OF THE AMERICAN FLAG

By Dale Hayward

I am very concerned with the display of the American Flag at the intersection of Rankin Street with Main Street on a sign for the upcoming lobster festival. The American Flag should never be draped or drawn back in folds. The American Flag should never be fastened or attached with nails or other fasteners that might damage the flag. The American Flag should be illuminated at darkness and not allowed to be rained on or affected by inclement weather unless it is an all-weather flag. The American Flag should not be printed on paper napkins, boxes, or on anything intended for temporary use and discard. The American Flag should never be used for advertising or promotional purposes. There are many other do's and don't for the display and use of the United State of America Flag and I sincerely hope that this is, if not already brought to their attention, as I did at 1AM, this date, and corrected as soon as possible. Proper display of the American Flag is critical for the respect it deserves.
