Rockland — The Maine Lobster Festival has announced its officers for 2018. They are, clockwise from top left, Cynthia Powell, president; Michelle Hannan, vice president; Barbara Toler, secretary; and Laurie Smith, treasurer.

Powell was born and raised in Rockland and volunteered with the festival throughout her childhood. In 2002 she returned home to Rockland and began volunteering again. She became a member of the Maine Lobster Festival in 2007. Powell was elected director in 2012, and served as vice president in 2015. This will be her second term as president.

Hannan resides in Rockport with her husband, Bob, and has been a volunteer at the Maine Lobster Festival for more than 20 years. In addition to her role as vice president, she is also the vendor coordinator. Hannan previously served on the board of 63 Washington St., a home for seniors in Camden. She is active in her community as part of the Keep Rockport Beautiful committee, Rockport’s 125th celebration, and an organizer of several first-responder appreciation events. Hannan is a senior vice president at Bank of America, where she has worked for 23 years.

Toler was born and raised in Camden and has been volunteering her time at the festival for as long as she can remember. For many years she helped out behind the scenes, and this will be her third term as secretary.

Smith grew up in Owls Head and now lives in Rockland. She has been a volunteer at the Maine Lobster Festival for more than 15 years. Smith was elected a director in 2006 and previously served as secretary from 2012 to 2015. She also helps with volunteer scheduling and coordinates Steins & Vines, a tasting event of local brewers, vintners and distillers. This will be her first term as treasurer.
