In postseason terms, as it turns out, it is sunny skies for Waldo County teams, while, by comparison, somewhat overcast for Knox County squads as the high school field hockey regular season concluded.

Belfast and Mount View qualified for the regional playoffs in Class B and Class C North, respectively, while Camden Hills and Oceanside came up short in their playoff bids for Class A and Class B North.

In Class A North, Camden Hills (4-9-1, 37.9592 points) finished 10th, while Skowhegan (13-1, 189.3878 points) finished first in the 12-team region. The top eight teams qualified for the playoffs, thus, the Windjammers failed to advance.

The top 10 teams qualified for the playoffs, thus, the Lions are playoff-bound, while the Mariners failed to advance.

No. 2 Belfast, the defending regional champions, will host No. 10 Brewer (6-8-1) in a quarterfinal playoff game on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. at Point Lookout in Northport. The Witches beat No. 7 Old Town (9-6) 1-0 in a prelim playoff clash for thew right to face the Lions.

The Lions do not play the Coyotes during the regular season, but beat the Witches 4-0 on Sept. 14 in Brewer.
