Lincolnville — A Lincolnville woman was arrested and charged with assault following an evening of trick-or-treating with her boyfriend and his son on Oct. 31, said Lincolnville Police Chief Ron Young.

Young said he was called to a Sutton Road home around 8:30 p.m. on Halloween night after a man called 911 and reported that he and his girlfriend had a dispute and that she had punched him in the face and was threatening to leave the premises, having been drinking. Young arrived at the scene and observed both parties out in the driveway on their respective cell phones, he said.

Both parties had been drinking and Young said he observed that the male victim had a visibly swollen left eye, which was consistent with the allegation that he had been assaulted. Young subsequently arrested Brandi Briere, 25. Briere was charged with domestic assault class D and transported to Waldo County Jail. Young said the child was not on the premises at the time of the dispute.
