Lincolnville moves to online transactions

Lincolnville — The Lincolnville Town Office is now closed to in-person transactions, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The town encourages the public to use online services, by clicking on the "Online Services" tab in the blue banner of the website at town.lincolnville.me.us.

Town office staff will continue to work both in the office and remotely, according to Town Administrator David Kinney. Selectmen approved this arrangement at their March 23 meeting. Business will be conducted by telephone, email and regular mail, Kinney said, in addition to online.

The telephone number for the town office is 763-3555 and the email address is info@town.lincolnville.me.us. Mail can be addressed to: Town Office, 493 Hope Road, Lincolnville, ME 04849 or deposited in the drop box to the right of the front door.

Property tax payments — due on April 1 — should be mailed to the town office or placed in the drop box, according to Kinney.

Staff asks that residents not mail cash or put cash in the drop box.

Board of Selectmen’s meetings will be limited to no more than 10 persons, due to the Governor's Executive Order regarding gatherings and the need for social distancing, according to a press release sent by the town.

Selectmen's meetings can be viewed live, on Youtube, and are archived on the town website for viewing at another time.

The town is working on an interactive system that will allow the public to ask questions of or provide input to the Board of Selectmen, according to the release. This system may not be available for the meeting on the March 23.  If not, submit questions in advance to info@town.lincolnville.me.us.

Currently, all board, committee and commission meetings are cancelled or postponed.
