Rockland — Richard Schneller will lead Rockland Public Library's Wednesday Walkers in an autumn tree walk Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m.

An autumn tree walk is a good time to observe trees transitioning into their winter dormancy. Learning to recognize aspects of the twigs, buds and fruit is an important part of knowing the identity of trees.

After many years of enthusiasm for trees, Schneller became a licensed arborist in 2001 and worked in tree care for about 12 years. He currently serves as Rockland's tree warden.

All are welcome to join the free walk. Participants will meet at the checkout desk and are required to sign a waiver form. For more information, call the library at 594-0310.
