Library offers free 'Art for Adults' classes

Oct 04, 2019

WALDOBORO — With autumn here, a new fall session of Art for Adults will begin on Monday, Oct. 21, at the Waldoboro Public Library. Classes will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and run for five consecutive Mondays through Nov. 25 (missing November 11 for the holiday).

Art for Adults is for all adults regardless of age or previous creative experience and training. It offers everyone an opportunity to come and discover their own, often hidden, creative energy through messing around with paints and other expressive tools. In addition, the fall classes will provide an opportunity to make holiday cards and artsy gifts if students choose to do so.

Waldoboro artist and teacher Joyce Steel will be the instructor for these sessions. As an art educator, Steel has taught in both public and private education, as well as for a variety of adult education courses and private classes. She is committed to providing an innovative learning environment in which participants are encouraged to experiment and discover their own creative voice.

Art for Adults is free of charge and limited to 15 members. Enrollees must commit to attending all classes. To enroll, or for more information, please call the Waldoboro Public Library at 832-4484 or stop by during open hours, which are noon to 2 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
