Rockport — Rhino Services LLC was awarded the Rockport Public Library Landscaping project at the July 13 meeting of the Select Board.

Jeffrey Hamilton made the motion to award the bid to Rhino Services for a town expense not to exceed $95,000 and any additional cost to be brought through donation.

Douglass Cole seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Town Manager Bill Post also reported at the meeting that the LED streetlight project has been delayed. The project was set to begin the week of July 6. The cause of the delay is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed the shipping of smart control units needed to install the lights.

Denise Munger motioned to appoint Kris Kangas and Tom Cox to the West Rockport Fire Station Building Committee. Mark Kelley seconded the motion. In the discussion of the motion, Kelley stated, “We’re lucky to have both of them.” The motion was passed unanimously.

The next select board meeting will be held on July 27. The meeting will also include a public hearing on the Town Warrant Articles.

Wait, is this the Select Board meeting which discussed short term rental regulations at length?  I see no mention of this fact.  What’s up?
