Augusta — Evangelos, McDonald earn 100 percent rating on votes supporting state workers

Rep. Jeffrey Evangelos, an independent from Friendship, who represents House District 91, has been notified that he has received a 100 percent rating on votes to support state workers, according to a recent scorecard released by the Maine State Employees Association, Local 1989 of the Service Employees International Union.

Rep. Genevieve McDonald, D-Stonington, whose district includes the Knox County itowns of North Haven and Vinalhaven, has also received a 100 percent rating on votes to support state workers, according to the union.

The member-run union group took into account five key bills from the first session of the 129th Legislature. The bills focused on pay parity for adult protective caseworkers, strengthening collective bargaining through binding arbitration, funding a compensation and classification study, excluding collectively bargained salary increases from earnable compensation limits for retirement and supporting the state budget.
