LCCT auditions for winter musical

Jan 08, 2018

Damariscotta — Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday evenings, Jan. 15 and 16, for Lincoln County Community Theater’s winter musical. This year’s production will be a semi-staged version of "9 to 5 the Musical.”

Auditions will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. both nights in the downtown Skidompha Library’s Porter Hall. Those planning to audition should bring a brief prepared song. An accompanist will be provided.

After four years of producing classic Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, LCCT took the leap into musical theater last year with "Mary Poppins.” “9 to 5,” with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Director John Mulcahy is hoping folks with "pop chops” will join up for this outing.

LCCT is looking to fill various roles in the show, as well as add to its ensemble. Members of the ensemble are not required to memorize their music. Rehearsals are held each Sunday afternoon starting in mid-January; performances are scheduled for Friday through Sunday, April 6 through 8. The production is accompanied by a full orchestra.

A brief description of the characters can be on the LCCT website, lcct.org/lincoln-county-community-theater.aspx. For more information, email info@lcct.org.
