Law enforcement hits the road for Special Olympics torch run

Rockland — The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics passed through Rockland Wednesday, June 6.

There were 20 runners along the Rockland route -- nine from the Coast Guard, six from the District Attorney's Office, two Rockland police officers, one from Camden police, one from Rockport, and one Knox County Jail officer.

Special Olympian Justin Kristiansen led the group, carrying the torch.

The torch run will continue until it reaches the University of Maine at Orono Friday, June 8, for the annual summer games.
