Knox Museum begins fall hours, seeks volunteers

Sep 05, 2019

Thomaston — The General Henry Knox Museum, 30 High St., has started its fall schedule for visits and tours. The museum is open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last tour leaving at 3:30 p.m. On Saturdays, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the last tour leaving at 12:30 p.m.

The museum will be open until Columbus Day Weekend and will close for the season with a family-oriented Harvest Festival Saturday, Oct. 12, which will be free to the public.

The museum needs adult and older teen volunteers. As a small museum, it relies on volunteers to assist in all areas of its operation. Volunteers can learn to give tours, assist in the gift shop, share their professional expertise, garden, serve on committees, and more.

For more information about volunteering, contact Sarah Johnson, museum manager, at sjohnson@knoxmuseum.org or by leaving a message at 354-0885.
