Recognition of Members
Secret Greeter: No one.
Badges: All ok.
50/50: Keith Wass had Jane Merrill's original ticked turned lucky. He didn't cut the Joker.

Happy/Sads
James Heavey was happy for our speaker. Jane Merrill was happy for Kieth Wass winning the 50/50, happy for a hike, and happy husband Rob wasn't washed out to sea. Marica Whitten was happy for our potential new member, and sad she got hacked on Facebook. Sandy Millar was sad he missed the evening meeting last week, and happy for the Special Olympics bowling event. Bob Brown was happy to be back, happy to have his medical issues behind him, sad he missed the meeting at Marcia Whitten's and sad this was his 4th meeting in a row where there was no secret greeter. Lynn Taylor was happy to be at a daytime meeting, happy the business was now a Mobil center, and happy daughter Lindsey is coming home next week. Jackie Harjula was happy for the Special Olympics bowling, happy for our guests, and happy to be inducting a new member today. Keith Wass was happy to win the 50/50, happy for Lynn Taylor, happy for the new members, happy for the speaker, and happy for Dan Saucier. Amy Shepard was happy for the meeting at Marcia Whitten's, and happy for her dance studio. Bill Batty Jr. was happy for a bunch of stuff, but he didn't write it down and now doesn't remember.

Jackie Harjula inducted our newest member (actually a former member who has come back to us) Necole Janczura. She went over the Six Objects of Kiwanis for everyone, and then all the club shook hands with Necole.

Speaker
Carlos Mello is with the Finance Authority of Maine. Due to questions from the audience, he never did get around to his slideshow presentation. He talked about some of the new business ventures coming to Maine, including several to Belfast. He also talked about some challenges to lumber, blueberries, and the price of energy.

From your Spiritual Aims committee: “Business, labor and civil society organizations have skills and resources that are vital in helping to build a more robust global community.”
~Kofi Annan
