May 11, 2018

Camden — For its sixth annual Dance Student Showcase, Kinetic Energy Alive Dance Productions presents  "Grit and Grace III" — showcasing young talent that delivers energy, inspiration and "messages in movement" for a better world. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts 7 p.m. at the downtown Camden Opera House.

While many of us feel uncertainty and frustration about the future, this third installment of "Grit and Grace" honors the dance company's commitment to communicating goodness, peace and healing to a troubled world through the spirit and vitality of a next generation of young talent.

With a cast of 69 dancers, ranging from children to adults, novice dancers and seasoned professionals, the show is a true message to any audience member that anyone can dance, be a part of a wholesome community event, and learn new ways to express themselves at whatever stage they are at in life.

Director Kea Tesseyman has helped the dancers craft their works to showcase the happiness and joy of each kid, the confidence and drive of each teenager, and the courage and willingness to redefine leadership in each adult. During the two-hour performance, multiple styles of hip hop, contemporary, modern and storytelling combine to deliver a fresh and vibrant experience -- one of hope and positive change for a better world.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $17 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit kineticenergyalive.com or Zoot Coffee, 31 Elm St.
