Waldoboro — All are invited to the Waldoboro Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route 1, Saturday, May 19, for a potluck supper and gospel concert featuring Kindred Hearts. The concert starts at 7 p.m., preceded at 5:30 by a community meal; bring something to share.

The Central Maine-based, Southern Gospel-inspired singing group features three siblings — Brian Woodbury, Amy Woodbury Dillon and Diane Woodbury Briggs — and their cousin, Kevin Lasselle. The group began its journey in 1995 with the simple mission of spreading the Gospel message through song and word testimony. In February, Kindred Hearts is scheduled to be on a Gospel Cruise to the Bahamas.

Having grown up in church, the group’s music has been influenced by many gospel genres, but their family blend of harmonies is rooted in traditional Southern Gospel. Their style encompasses a mix of great Southern Gospel classics, traditional and contemporary worship, along with original compositions. Their recent CD features mostly songs written by group members. Kindred Heart’s concert mix included keyboard, bass guitar and acoustic guitar, allowing the group to do a wide variety of concert formats.
