Portland — Kim Knight, 61, passed peacefully after a long illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland Monday, July 17, 2017, while surrounded by family. Born in Rockport Aug. 22,1955, she was the daughter of Henry and Colleen Pomeroy. She had one older brother, Ronald. Kim graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in 1975. In 1977, Kim married Carl Knight. They had two children, Carl Henry and Brittnee. Kim worked for many years as a bartender and cook at the Wayfarer and Ale Yard. She then worked as a cashier at Walmart for several years.

Kim was well known for her love of games; she could easily spend an afternoon socializing while playing cards.

Kim was predeceased by grandson Ayden, as well as her parents, Henry and Colleen. She is survived by her son, Carl Knight, of Rockland and grandson, Asher; her daughter, Brittnee, and grandson, Blake, of Rockland; brother Ronnie and wife Sue of Etna; two nieces; as well as several other family members and close friends.

There will be a celebration of life Sunday, Aug. 13,, at 1 p.m. Kim’s friends and family are invited to gather at 91 Pleasant St., Rockland, for light refreshments. Please bring any photos and fond memories to share.
