Port Clyde — Judith A. "Judy" Carty, 77, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at her home.

Born in Medford, Mass., May 17, 1942, she was the daughter of William Donald Sr. and Alice Blundell Page. Growing up in Medford, she attended high school there.

Judy began her working career at Stein's Bakery. She had a love of baking and always had a sweet tooth. While working there, she met the love of her life, Richard Carty. The two were married Dec. 3, 1960, at St. John’s Methodist Church in Medford, Mass. The couple resided there for two years before moving to Woburn, Mass., eventually settling in Tewksbury, Mass. While living there, Judy was a busy mother of three boys and was also employed at the local schools in the cafeteria.

Judy had summered in Maine since she was a child. She and Richard moved here permanently in 1986 and made their home in Port Clyde.

Always active, she enjoyed crocheting, making many beautiful keepsakes for her family. She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls and enjoyed shopping for new ones. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them, playing board games or cards, as well as cooking and baking for them. She enjoyed family gatherings and having her family nearby, as well as daily phone calls with loved ones. Her faithful dog, Charley, has been her constant companion for the last 10 years.
