Jonesville plays Union’s Pie Social

Union — The Union's Founders Day celebration, Friday through Sunday, July 13 through 15, kicks off with the Union Area Chamber of Commerce’s Now Famous Pie Social Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Common.

Pie and more on the Common will be accompanied by the acoustic duo Jonesville, performing in the gazebo and sponsored by The Common Market.

Along with pieces of homemade pie, burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers, ice cold drinks will be served. Two raffles donated by Castle Builders will be available: a 5-foot cedar bench with an attached 2-by-2 foot planter (retail value $125.99); and a 4-foot cedar arbor (retail value $249). Tickets for the raffle are  $1, six for $5. All proceeds from the food and raffle sales go to the Union Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.

The Union Area Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1952, is more than 85 members strong. The organization provides opportunities for local businesses to participate in joint marketing efforts, business networking and in sponsoring and supporting local communities.
