CAMDEN — Jenna Lookner has announced she is not going to seek reelection to the Camden Select Board at this time, for a combination of professional and personal reasons.

"It has been a great honor to serve this community that I love," she said April 5.

She hopes to stay involved via town committee volunteerism or another capacity, as time allows, along with maintaining participation on multiple nonprofit boards to which she belongs.

Calling the decision "tremendously difficult, " she added she "will likely pursue future opportunities in town government/leadership when the time is right for me."

Looker was elected to a three-year term in 2018. Prior to that, she was elected to a one-year term in 2017, filling the seat held by her father Leonard Lookner, who died in February of that year.

"I am so grateful to have been a part of the Select Board, and to have received so much support from the community in my two bids for my seat, including my initial run for my late father's seat."

Jenna, thank you for your dedicated service to our town!  Your voice will be missed but I look forward to seeing the new directions you pursue.  -- Vicki Doudera
