Jackson reprises Farnsworth improv workshop

Jan 08, 2021
Ryan Jackson

Rockland — Beginning Thursday, Jan. 21, and back by popular demand, the Farnsworth Art Museum will host a four-part online theatrical-improvisation workshop led by local actor Ryan Jackson. Entitled “Making It Up as You Go," the class will take place Thursdays Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 18, and April 15, on Zoom from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Jackson is back once again to expand your minds and fill your bellies with laughter. Participants will engage in the art of creating on the spot without preparation through various games, exercises, and theatre-based scene work. Students will become experts on subjects they didn’t know about before, and embrace their inner fool. Beginners and old pros alike are invited to come and have some fun!

Born and raised in Rockland, Jackson is a graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre. For the past 20 years, he has been working both locally and professionally in Midcoast Maine, as well as other parts of New England. Jackson is an Employee Owner at Rock City Cafe, as well as Site Coordinator for After School Programming at Oceanside Middle School.

The fee for this program is $30; $25 for Farnsworth members per class, or all four classes may be purchased for $105; $85 for Farnsworth members. To register for this program or for more information, visit farnsworthmuseum.org.

Great teacher, this class was so much fun!  I will be signing up again, for sure. Glad for your brilliance, cleverness and leadership skills, Ryan.
