Island Zero director Josh Gerritsen talks about making a horror movie and upcoming projects

Josh Gerritsen visited the VillageSoup studio July 5 to talk about the experience of making a horror movie set on an island in Maine.

"Island Zero," released in 2018, which is set on an island off the coast of Maine, started with the question, "What if the ferry never came and the people of a small island found themselves completely isolated?"

The movie script was written by Gerritsen's mother, bestselling thriller writer Tess Gerritsen, of Camden and directed by Josh Gerritsen. The film's cast and crew include many local people and it was shot in recognizable Midcoast locations.

Josh also talked about the documentary he is currently working on about pigs. This documentary is aimed at answering the question of why people of certain faiths and cultures do not eat pork. His research has come up with some interesting insights on that.

"Island Zero" is available on Amazon now.
