Is your dog or cat micro chipped?

By Loyal Biscuit Co. | Mar 25, 2014

Is your pet Micro Chipped? If not, they should be! Collars and tags are super important in the recovery of lost animals, but sometimes they can fall off. A micro chip is always in place!

We have three clinics scheduled in April, one in each store. The cost is only $25.00 per animal with NO annual subscription fees and all proceeds benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County. Make plans to have your dogs and cats chipped this spring!

Trained shelter staff will implant the tiny, rice-sized I.D., which is encoded with a unique number and implanted just under the skin in the scruff of the neck. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds. The ‘chip’ can later be detected and read by a scanner used by shelters, veterinarians and other agencies.

Losing a pet can be a devastating and traumatic experience. Micro-chipping your pet can help link your pet with a 24/7 recovery network. This will greatly increase the chance that your pet will be returned to you, if ever lost or stolen.

The micro-chipping clinics will take place at all three Loyal Biscuit locations and the cost is $25 with all proceeds benefiting the PMHSKC. There is no appointment necessary for the clinic, simply come between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In addition to the micro-chipping clinic, our Natural Balance rep will be on hand with free samples, coupons and more.

“We want to make sure every pet that is separated from its owner can be reunited with their family,” said Heidi Neal, co-owner of Loyal Biscuit Co. “It is so easy to have one’s pet micro-chipped and enrolled in a recovery database, it would be heartbreaking to let that be the one thing to keep a pet and its owner apart.”
