North Haven — A North Haven man was arrested Monday afternoon after police said he brandished a shotgun during a fight on the island.

Chayse McDonald, 20, was arrested on charges of reckless conduct and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, according to Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison.

The sheriff said the incident began when some items were posted on the internet about a woman. McDonald got into a fight with another man over this and threatened him with a shotgun, she said.

Police were called at about 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20.

Deputy Robert Potter arrested McDonald, assisted by Marine Patrol Officers Brian Tolman and Matt Talbot. McDonald was brought to the mainland by the Marine Patrol.

He was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland and released on $250 bail.

The sheriff said no one required hospital care because of the fight.
