Inmate dies at Maine State Prison

Warren — A 79-year-old Maine State Prison inmate has died.

The Department of Corrections said George Henry O'Connell of Franklin County died about 3 a.m. Feb. 21. His death is from natural causes, according to the Scott Fish of the Department of Corrections.

Consistent with the department policy and the Attorney General’s Office protocols, the State Police and the Medical Examiner were notified and are reviewing the death, according to a news release from the Department of Corrections.

O'Connell had served approximately four months of a 30-month sentence for unlawful sexual contact. On. Oct. 13, 2013, O'Connell was sentenced to eight years with all but 30-months suspended.

He was scheduled to be released March 11, 2016, then on probation until March 11, 2024.

Someone posted a link in the Bangor Daily News of this guy's history. Another guy posted that he would wait for the movie.

8 years with all but 30 months?  Interesting sentence.  I wonder if this was the first offense.  Be curious to get more information about prior history.

my feelings exactly. Who cares ?? Why is this news ?? A normal person does not get headlines like this if they pass away.
