Informed Young Leaders make presentations Dec. 5

Informed Young Leaders presents students from two Midcoast high schools -- Medomak Valley (Waldoboro) and Oceanside (Rockland) – delivering PechaKucha-style presentations (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide) on a wide range of subjects, including Foreign Policy and Global Terrorism, Eminent Domain, Impact of Social Media on Politics, Gerrymandering, Women’s Rights, Health Care and Cyberterrorism.

The event takes place Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Oceanside High School auditorium in Rockland. It is open to the public with no admission charge, and refreshments will be available.

As part of the ongoing program, students will have rehearsed with members of the Informed Young Leaders team of community mentor advisers prior to the event.

Eastern Tire & Rubber and The First Bank are once again the lead sponsors for this year’s program, Courier Publications/Village Soup is the media sponsor for the upcoming events.
