Hueppchen book launch, reading

Sep 05, 2018

Camden — Dale Hueppchen will read from his debut novel “The Kid’s Last American Adventure” Sunday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Picker Room of Camden Public Library, Atlantic Avenue.

Hueppchen’s painting career enters into the novel in the person of artist Adam (aka the Kid), who is accompanied by his novelist pal Noah on an adventurous trip around the States. It is the Kid’s last chance to see the country, given his terminal cancer.

Despite his illness, the Kid is full of life, energizing the journey with inventive games and wide-ranging discussions on art and literature; movies and music; sports and science; American history and ancient myth. Noah adds his own unique touch, bolstering his narration with wild and wooly wordplay —alliteration being his particular predilection.

Following Hueppchen’s reading, books will be available for purchase and signing.
