Do you know what you are doing Tuesday, June 10, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.? You are going to the Hope Town office to vote. You will be voting for two of the following five for selectmen for 3 years: Brittany Payson, Jim Blanchette, David Bosken, Ryan Entwistle and Wendy Pelletier. Next you will vote for two of the following for the budget committee: Bill Jones, Joe Berry or Jean Ettlinger. Kate Ryan is running uncontested for a one-year position on the school board. John Monroe is seeking to be re-elected to be Road Commissioner.

There is still an opening for a school board member for three years. Please plan to go to the town office and vote.

Town Meeting

The town meeting for Hope will be held Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Hope Elementary School. The results of the voting for the above will be announced.

Class of 1958

The Camden and Rockport classes of 1958 will meet for their monthly luncheon at The Helm Restaurant at noon. Please plan to attend. If you have questions call me at 236-1085.

Class of 1960

The Camden High School class of 1960 will be meeting at the Offshore Restaurant at noon to enjoy a lunch with all classmates. Plan to attend to see and visit your classmates. If you have any questions call Margaret at 763-3344 or Juanita at 785-4316.

Name Changed

For a number of years the information sheet that went home with each student was called the Green Sheet. Now it has changed its name to The Hawk's Eye with a picture of the school and a note from the principal with the phone number 785-4081, the fax number 785-2671 or website at hope.u69.k12.me.us

Senior Lunch

The Senior Lunches at Hope Elementary School the first Thursday of each month are on vacation. There will be no lunches again until fall. Thanks go to Melissa, the cook, for planning these and thanks to her helpers.

Students Return

By the time you read this, the eighth-grade students have returned from the class trip to Quebec. We all hope they had a good time.

T-shirts and Sweatshirts

If you would like to order one of the above, it is not too late. All Hope T-shirts and sweatshirts must be ordered by June 2.


The Hope yearbook is going fast. The order forms went home in backpacks. If you would still like to order one, they have extra order forms. The book is $15.

From the Library

If you have a book at home that belongs in the Hope school library please return it before the end of school. If you have lost the book, plan to pay the library for the price of the book.


New this year for Rockport Boat Club sailing is online registration. Visit rockportboatingclub.org and click on the Youth Sailing tab for details on class schedules, fees and other information.

Aldermere Farm

Come and work with those cool "Oreo cows." Aldermere Farm in Rockport will offer a summer farm hands program for six weeks once a week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will learn about the care and maintenance of the calves and how to halter train them. This program is for kids ages 11 through 18. Please contact Program Manager Sara Post at 236-2739 or spost@mcht.org

Lincoln Pierce

Congratulations to Lincoln Pierce (grade 4) who won the MONEY Athletic Foundation Fun Run last Sunday. Lincoln's Dad won the 5k. Also racing was Mike Pierce and Mrs. Fagonde, the principal.
