Hope — A Hope man has pleaded not guilty to a charge that he stalked a woman for three months.

Ian R. Robertson, 37, is charged with Class D misdemeanor domestic violence stalking.

The District Attorney's Office filed a formal criminal complaint June 6 against Robertson. The charge alleged that he engaged in conduct from March 24 through May 28 that caused the woman to suffer serious inconvenience or emotional distress.

His bail conditions include a prohibition from being within 1,000 feet of the victim's house. He is also barred from possessing or using global positioning system tracking devices or electronic surveillance equipment.

Police say he placed a tracking device on the victim's motor vehicle.

His attorney, Walter McKee, of Augusta, submitted a not guilty plea on Robertson's behalf.
